We Are Americans Fighting for Americans

Why we exist
The American Public Affairs Committee was founded on a single, unshakeable belief: the government of the United States should work for the people of the United States. Not for foreign governments. Not for corporate lobbyists. Not for special interest groups with deep pockets and narrow agendas. For the workers, families, small business owners, and communities who built this country and who deserve to see it work for them again.
Advocacy and Education
We research, develop, and champion policies that directly improve the economic security, physical safety, and long-term opportunity of American families and workers. We cut through the noise of partisan politics to give ordinary Americans the clear, honest information they need to understand what is happening in their country and why it matters to their lives.
Mobilization
We build the grassroots political pressure that forces elected officials to act in the interests of their constituents, not their donors.
Accountability
We hold lawmakers, corporations, and institutions accountable when they put foreign interests, special interests, or personal financial gain ahead of the American public.
Born Out of Frustration. Built on Purpose.
The American Public Affairs Committee was built by people who were tired of waiting.
Tired of watching Washington pass legislation written by lobbyists for lobbyists. Tired of seeing trade deals that sent American jobs overseas celebrated as progress. Tired of a political conversation so consumed by partisan warfare that the real crises facing ordinary Americans, rising costs, stagnant wages, crumbling communities, and a disappearing middle class, were treated as afterthoughts.
We did not start as political insiders. We started as concerned Americans, business owners, veterans, parents, workers, and community leaders, who looked at the direction this country was heading and said: enough.
We believed then, as we believe now, that the problems facing America are not unsolvable. They are the result of a political system that has drifted away from the people it was designed to serve. Our mission is to pull it back.
The America Strong Campaign is the vehicle for that mission. It is a nationwide effort to build the political will, from the ground up, to force the policy changes that American workers and families have been waiting for. Not someday. Now.

Our Mission: Rebuild the American Dream Where It Matters Most
Our mission is straightforward: to advocate for policies that rebuild the American Dream in the lives of people who are doing everything right and still feel like they are falling behind.
We define the American Dream simply. It means an economy that rewards hard work. It means communities that are safe, stable, and full of opportunity. It means a government that puts American workers, families, and small businesses ahead of special interests and foreign agendas.
When those conditions exist, America thrives. When they do not, Americans suffer — quietly, at kitchen tables, in communities that Washington has forgotten. Our job is to make sure Washington never forgets again.
The Principles That Guide Everything We Do
The America Strong Campaign is guided by a set of core values that do not bend to political winds, donor pressure, or poll numbers. These are the principles that shape every position we take and every fight we pick.
Country First: Every policy we advocate for must answer one question: does this make America stronger? Not stronger for shareholders. Not stronger for foreign trading partners. Stronger for the workers, families, and communities that make up the fabric of this nation. Country first is not a slogan for us, it is the filter through which every decision is made.
Earned Opportunity: We believe in the original promise of America: that if you work hard and play by the rules, you should have a real shot at a secure and prosperous life. We fight to restore the conditions, fair wages, affordable costs, open markets, and honest government, that make earned opportunity a reality rather than a memory.
Honest Government: Americans deserve a government that tells them the truth, spends their money wisely, and makes decisions in the open. We fight for transparency, accountability, and the elimination of the conflicts of interest and foreign influence that have corrupted the policymaking process. Government that cannot be trusted cannot lead.
Community Strength: America is not built in Washington. It is built in neighborhoods, on Main Streets, in factories, in family-owned businesses, and in the homes of people raising the next generation of Americans. We fight for the conditions that allow communities to thrive, safe streets, good schools, local economic opportunity, and stable families.
Nonpartisan Courage: The problems facing America are bigger than any political party. We work with anyone , Democrat, Republican, or independent, who is genuinely committed to putting American workers and families first. We call out failure and reward courage regardless of which party is responsible. The American people deserve leaders who serve the country, not the party.
Sovereign Independence: America must control its own destiny. Our economic policy, foreign policy, and national security decisions must be made by Americans, for Americans, free from foreign financial pressure and influence. We fight to protect American sovereignty at every level — from our borders to our boardrooms to our ballot boxes.

We Are Not Another Washington Talking Shop
There is no shortage of political organizations in Washington claiming to fight for ordinary Americans. Most of them are funded by the same corporate donors, staffed by the same revolving-door insiders, and ultimately accountable to the same special interests they claim to oppose.
The American Public Affairs Committee is built differently, by design.
We Are Nonpartisan by Conviction, Not by Convention: We do not exist to elect one party or defeat another. We exist to force accountability on whoever holds power. We have praised Democratic policies when they serve American workers. We have criticized Republican policies when they do not. Our loyalty is to the American people — not to any party, platform, or political tribe.
We Are Transparent About Who Funds Us: We believe that political transparency is not optional. Our funding sources, our expenditures, and our advocacy activities are disclosed fully and clearly. Americans deserve to know who is speaking on their behalf and where the money comes from. We hold ourselves to the same standard of transparency we demand from government.
We Are Driven by Policy, Not Personality: We do not build our movement around any individual politician or public figure. Political personalities come and go. Policy outcomes last. Our focus is always on the substance, the laws, the regulations, the trade agreements, and the budget decisions that determine the real conditions of American life.
We Are Accountable to Our Members: Our agenda is shaped by the Americans who join, support, and participate in the America Strong Campaign — not by donors seeking a return on their political investment. Every position we take can be traced back to the interests of working Americans, not the preferences of a financial backer.
A Growing Movement with Results
The America Strong Campaign began as a conversation, among frustrated Americans who believed their country was better than its current leadership was allowing it to be. That conversation became a committee. That committee became a campaign. And that campaign is becoming a movement.
We have brought together Americans from every walk of life, every region of the country, and every political background who share one common belief: America should put its own people first.
We have advocated for trade reforms that protect American jobs. We have fought against foreign land purchases near American military installations. We have pushed for greater transparency in foreign lobbying. We have educated millions of Americans about the policy decisions that directly affect their lives. And we are just getting started.
The America Strong Campaign is not finished. Not even close. The challenges facing American families are too serious, the stakes are too high, and the need for principled, nonpartisan advocacy is too urgent to slow down now.
